A chromosome is like a long shoelace. At the very tips of our shoelaces are found the caps. Those are the telomeres. When the caps of the shoelaces get worn away to nothing, the shoelace starts falling apart. Same thing happens with the chromosomes.
크로모좀은 긴 구두끈 처럼 생겼어요. 구두끈 제일 끝에 우리는 캡을 발견할 수 있죠. 그것들이 바로 텔로미어들입니다. 구두끈 끝단의 캡이 닳아 없어지면 구두끈은 풀어지기 시작하죠. 크로모좀에도 같은 일이 발생합니다.
